I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch with a coworker at Sushi Ya, and I have to say, it was a fantastic meal! We had a selection of small plates, and I highly recommend the fried softshell crab—lightly salted and perfectly fried. It was a great way to kick things off. One of my favorites was the Tricolor Tataki. All of the fish was super fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, our server was attentive but not intrusive, and they made sure our drinks were always full. We also appreciated how quickly our food arrived, even during the lunch rush. Overall, I had a wonderful time, great meal and would recommend to anyone for lunch or dinner.

Nice spot. The lunch special gives an amazing bang for your buck. We enjoyed service from a super kind server. My partner really enjoyed the beef teriyaki box. I enjoyed the 3 for 15 sushi special. We both got drinks. The bill was under 50. Refreshing salad, cute music, clean... Glad we found this spot.

Went there last night with the wife and kids. Not sure about the negative reviews I read here. But my wife and I are sushi snobs. This place was awesome. In my wife's words, "this is the best sushi I've ever had." And we've had sushi all around. The service was impeccable and super friendly and the owner came over and did sake shots with us. The food was absolutely super fresh, tasty and was not overpowered by rice as is usually the case in many sushi spots. The atmosphere was great and inviting and the whole experience was simply fantastic. We are definitely going to be back.

Our family loves this restaurant and it seems we end up visiting on a weekly basis! We eat sushi often, also making it at home, and think the quality here is great. The food is consistently fresh and prepared with care. Min is wonderful as well!

It's still amazing! It's a destination stop every time we are in Long Island! I simply cannot rate Sushi Ya Garden City highly enough. We live in Delaware and it is our favorite sushi place because nothing in Delaware measures up. Kelly and Eric the owners are fantastic, and everything they make is devine. The quality and selection of sushi and sashimi is outstanding. The little touches like fresh wasabi (as opposed to the usual little green ball) are excellent. The pineapple fried rice served in a half pineapple shell are to die for. Hibachi is available. Simply in ambiance, service, and quality there is simply no place that is better. Give yourself a treat and spend some time here.
